In Europe, there is a regulation applicable to signalling for trucks and trailers: the ECE 104 standard.

Arco Iris® Tapes, ECE104 Class, in 5cm x 50m roll 5cmx10m

Thickness: 0.38mm
High-adhesion adhesive film in PP coated with a silicone coating
Excellent resistance and durability

In order to ensure excellent visibility for trucks and trailers moving along the roads at night, these trucks and trailers must be equipped with ECE104 reflective tapes, in white, yellow or red (see below the rules concerning colours).

The ECE 104 tapes must be placed on both sides and behind the trailers according to Regulation 48 (see below: rules for the ECE104 retroreflective tape application)

Our retroreflective tapes are compliant with ECE104 Class C (a marking on the tape confirms its conformity): these tapes are high-quality equipment providing high-visibility; they reflect the light over 350m. These tapes do not use micro beads to reflect the light of the headlights of a vehicle, but microprisms, much more performing in terms of reflectivity.

"Class C" Grade is the highest grade (on a scale from C to E), and is intended for contour marking.
It is made compulsory by the National Roads Authority for trucks and trailers within the European area.

Which trucks are concerned by this European regulation imposing the ECE104 reflective tapes?

The following vehicles must comply* with the law:
*Marked with ECE 104 Class C retroreflective tapes
