Coloured pearlescent and metallic pearls for incorporation into resins
Mix our Resoltech epoxy resin for high-thickness castings, and our pearl pigments for amazing iridescent effects.
Play with the pearl colours, background colours, transparent dyes (epoxy inks), to easily create your own iridescent pourings.
These products are used to make the compelling "epoxy tables" or "river tables"
Pearl properties and qualities :
Pearl powder is a beautiful component that glitters naturally, providing a decorative effect in many uses (resins, plastics, paints, cosmetics, etc.)
They can be incorporated into all transparent materials, such as epoxy.
Made from synthetic mica, or even silicate glass, pearl powders are particularly iridescent and reflect well the light.
The pearl particles we propose are microscopic and without thickness; they are from 5µm to 100µm (1µm = 1/1000mm) for larger ones. They are very light and remain in suspension in high viscosity media, as are the resins.

How to use pearl powders with epoxy resin :
Pearl powders are very concentrated, and are used in small quantities: a 5 to 25g dosage per kg of epoxy resin is recommended.
Dilute a few teaspoon dose (about 4g per spoon) of pearls in the resin and stir until total dispersion.
Recommended dosage: the greater the thickness of the epoxy casting, the less you need to concentrate the pearl powder
Sedimentation :
Warning ! during the "curing time" or "gel time" of the resin,
nacres can sediment and fall.
To avoid this phenomenon, it is necessary to ensure a fast hardening of the resin:
several solutions exist:
- choose the most suitable type of resin
- and ensure a sufficient thickness, to create a fast hardening
(for 4000 resin: 3 cm, for WWA resin: 10cm)
The phenomenon of pearl deposition is faster with pearls of the Diamond type or flakes.
Danger /! S22: Do not breathe dust.
Pearl powders : choice of different sizes, types and colours
The Stardust® range includes a large choice of effect pearls.
The smaller the size, the more discreet is the glitter effect, producing a stylish satin sheen.
In contrast, the larger the pearl particles, the more they produce a strong glittering reflection.
5µm = ultra thin / 60µm = medium / 100µm or more: large
Characteristics of the different types of pearls :
White series :
Colourless and semi-transparent pearl powders. Used as loads with a transparent dye. They can be used alone, to achieve a pure white pearl effect.
They are available with a variety of sizes, and can be mixed with a ratio of 5 to 25g/kg of epoxy resin.
Coloured series (60µm) :
A palette of 16 beautiful pearl colours, specially designed for thick castings and epoxy river tables.
Mix ratio : 10 to 25g/kg of epoxy resin
Metallic series (60µm) :
All the natural colour palette of metals + a pure aluminum powder.
Pearl powders with metallic shades.
Mix ratio : 10 to 25g/kg of epoxy resin
Crystal Interference Series :
As their name suggests, these pearl powders have a white appearance and interact with light, or with an opaque background, returning a bright colour.
(light reflection, with an iridescent colour)
They are made of high quality synthetic mica.
Dosage : 5 to 25g/kg
Diamond Series (100µm) :
Pearl powder of exception, not made from mica, but from silicon (pure glass). The Diamond range produces a superior shine, and a stronger iridescent effect.
They are available as powders, with a white aspect, and create a colour by reflection of the light (like the Interference pearl series ), or when they are applied over a black background.
Dosage indications : from 5 to 25g/L
3D effect Pigments and holographic flakes :
They range from fine-grained powders to coarse powders and are called pigments or flakes, respectively.
They have the unique capability to emit a rainbow reflection, thanks to their metallized microscopic undulating surface.
Recommended Use : in superficial layer (see our 4000 fine resin), on dark or black backgrounds.
Mixture : 5 to 25g/kg of epoxy resin.
Metallized epoxy floor resins :
Astounding decorative effects can be achieved by mixing pearls in epoxy floor resins. The method is extremely simple and the results are "breathtaking". The pearls represent a load which, besides their amazing visual effect, also offer a better resistance to UVs
Advanced use of pearls with epoxy resins :
The mixture of coloured pearls in the resins give awesome results. However, it is a basic technique, relatively unsophisticated.
To achieve the best pearl effects that offer a deep and luminous colour, we recommend the "light colour" to the "flat colour" : this is made possible by adding translucent inks to pearls:
With this "Candy” technique, it is the light that enters and exits the resin, creating the colour.
The pearl combination possibilities are endless.
