Phosphorescent paint elastomeric for roads and cycle paths

To improve visibility outdoors at night, particularly when switching off public lighting during the second half of the night, phosphorescent paint for the road provides an ecological, economical, efficient and easy-to-implement solution.

The phosphorescent paint elastomeric is capable of emitting visible light in a sufficient level of darkness, throughout the night. It requires no other sources of energy (excitation) than that of daylight.

Phosphorescent road paint is recommended for pedestrian walkways and cycle paths. Phosphorescence is effective in dark environments, and is therefore not a suitable solution for road traffic. In the presence of car headlights, it is recommended to use reflective paints.

Formula

The road phosphorescent paint is a monocomponent formula water based. It provides a high level of resistance and flexibility. It is non-slip.

Functioning

Phosphorescence (also called Photoluminescence) is a luminous phenomenon produced by the molecular reaction of pigments. This phenomenon is extremely durable and can last for many decades without any drop in performance.

Paint maintenance is simply dusting and washing to allow light "in and out"

Its use is perfectly suitable for pedestrian and cycle markings in the low light area. They allow better visibility of routes and paths, and can also mark obstacles.

Important Note:
phosphorescence is not shown in the area with street lights. The luminance created by the paint (micro candella) cannot be equal to or greater than the luminance of the street lamps (lux)
The phosphorescence is stable and slightly decreasing as the hours go by.

Mixing the paint.
The paint comes with the pigment separately. The mixing is simple, it is done by weight with 1000g of base and 250g of pigment. There is no time limit for the mixture, which can be stored.

Dilution: ready to use, dilution from 0 to 5% (Roller and brush), dilution from 5 to 15% (Gun)

During the implementation it is very important to maintain the mixture in agitation (stir regularly), in order to avoid the sedimentation of the Photoluminescent pigment.

How to apply:
Spraying with a gun (1.8mm), or with a brush.

The application of phosphorescent road paint requires a white background.
This white background is offered in the form of a road paint (PH1041) of the same type. This paint is particularly suitable for gripping road materials, and has excellent resistance thanks to its high dry matter content.

In order to promote adhesion between the white layer and the phosphorescent layer, and considering the rapid drying of these formulas, the white layer should be covered directly with the phosphorescent layer, without exceeding a period of 12 hours.

Drying

• Touch dry: 1 hour
• Recoating: 1½ hours
• Traffic / Pedestrians: 6–12 hours / Vehicles: 24–48 hours

Thickness
The intensity and effectiveness of phosphorescent road paint depends on its thickness.
The thicker the coat is applied, the greater the effectiveness of the paint.
A consumption of 500 g per square meter is recommended.

The phosphorescent layer must measure between 100 and 150 microns to ensure luminance according to ISO17398 class C or class D

Form of Delivery, Mixing, and Storage
The product is two-component, it is delivered in the form of a resin accompanied by a powder
the mixture is made by weight at the time of use, with 4 parts of resin for one part of powder
The mixture remains perfectly usable for 1 year.
