Maximise the brightness of your photoluminescent paints
The quality of a phosphorescent paint depends as much on the paint itself as on the surface to which it is applied. The P520 epoxy primer has been specially developed to create a perfectly white, uniform and extremely adhesive surface, allowing photoluminescent paints to reach their full luminous potential.
The P520 forms the first layer of the StardustColors photoluminescent marking systems. It is used beneath the PH2329 phosphorescent epoxy paint, as well as beneath the FL2329 fluorescent paints and the UV2329 invisible fluorescent coatings.
Why apply a white primer?
Photoluminescent pigments work by absorbing and then re-emitting light energy. When the finish is applied directly to grey or dark concrete, some of this light is absorbed by the substrate, thereby reducing the intensity of the afterglow.
The P520 white primer acts as a light reflector. It significantly increases the final brightness and improves the visibility of markings in the dark. This primer is therefore highly recommended to achieve the best photoluminescent performance.
A primer designed for industrial floors
P520 is a three-component, solvent-free and virtually odourless epoxy resin. Once cured, it forms a coating that is particularly resistant to the stresses encountered in industrial buildings:
- heavy traffic,
- abrasion,
- water,
- oils,
- solvents,
- alcohols,
- fuels,
- common acids.
With a solids content of over 95 per cent, it allows for the application of a thick, even and durable coat.
A simple application
The primer can be applied to properly prepared concrete, cement, metal or timber.
Application possible :
- epoxy roller,
- brush,
- air spray gun.
The coverage is approximately 200 g/m² for a thickness of around 200 microns. The photoluminescent paint can be applied over the surface after approximately 24 hours without sanding.
