Photoluminescent Floor Spot

Night falls but fortunately it’s possible to easily find one’s way thanks to this built-in photoluminescent spot.

Designed by the company StardustColors, the spot includes a fine-machined stainless steel strapping, that holds a thick glass and a phosphorescent layer made of « rare earth » :

How does it work ?

This layer reacts to any source of light (solar and artificial), by absorbing and storing this energy then returning it back - delayed - in the form of a natural luminance that can last well beyond one night.
In many cases, even with low ambient lighting, spots can effectively play their role when the power is off, to guide people towards the exits.

Their qualities are :
Completely autonomous, as they naturally illuminate thanks to their photoluminescence, without requiring costly electrical connection or even maintenance, since their life span is almost unlimited.

They can fit in a wide variety of floors: concrete floors whether they have been made on the spot or precast concrete, coated floors, resin floors, but also mixed and wooden floors, tiles, etc.

Which means that it's perfectly suited for outdoor use because of its resistance to extreme weather conditions such as rain, frost or summer heat.

« How long does a photoluminescent spot glow ? » : 
The remanence will depend on several parameters such as exposure time, the strength and quality of the light loading, ambient temperature : the spot will not suddenly stop to glow after 12 hours ! The photoluminescence will quickly decrease during the first minute, and then remain stable. In the absence of light, the spot will stay visible beyond 12 hours after the lights are switched off.

Sustainable development and environment :
Not only the product doesn't use any energy, but its composition doesn't include any hazardous materials as well, and of course no radioactive material is involved !
