The phosphorescent effect depends of the number of coats applied : extra phosphorescent effect is achieved when a maximum of passes are applied.

Other parameters have to be taken into account: the choice of the colour is very important (favour strong colours  like green rather than less luminous colours : see PDF table of colours).

The background colour is also important ; it must be a light colour (white is strongly recommended).

The ambient temperature (the hotter it is, the more the paint is "light excited"), and of course the time for charging also play a part.

Note that the phosphorescent glow is not intense enough to be effective in streets by night, due to the luminosity released by cities lights

NATURE : High quality paint, as used for cars : the paint has a matt finish and is solvent based, very thin, and dries fast, allowing to apply a maximum number of passes  A varnish must be applied over (see BASECOAT and CLEARCOAT category)


LIFETIME : The lifetime of a phosphorescent paint is over 10 years

Type of product : Automotive solvent-based 1K basecoat

Use : Provides a matt finish to varnish for cars, motorcycles, decoration, and more

Destination : can be applied over wood, metal, concrete, brick, paints, among other materials (White or light background advised).

Theoretical coverage : 0,75sqm/ spray  

VOC : > 420 G/L

Application : Over a white background (paint or basecoat), sanded with P400/P500 DRY or P600 with water. Several thin coats are recommended rather than one heavy coat

Number of coats : minimum 3 to 6 passes.

DRYING at 20°C : TOUCH DRY IN 15 TO 30 MIN

VARNISHING : Apply varnish within 30 min MAX, if not sanding, with any kind of clearcoat for cars  (acrylic and polyurethane)

Safety  : Respect safety instructions. Harmful and extremely flammable product

Note : green is the strongest of the phosphorescent colours . Blue-green is also a  strong colour. The other colours (white, blue, purple, red and orange) have or a short remanence , or a low glow.
