WPU Stardust Pro Airbrush Paints - 11 CANDY Colors

Candy® Water-Based Airbrush Paints Stardust Pro WPU are ultra-fine, ultra-fluid acrylic paints, especially suitable for airbrushing.

The water-based Candy color range allows full passage of light. These colors are composed of dyes, replacing the usual pigments. The light is therefore colored when it passes through the Candy paint, in the same way that the light is colored by a stained glass window.

The progressive nuances of a transparent Candy

With the different layers applied with the airbrush, it is possible to obtain light shades, or on the contrary, intense and deep, in the same way that the color of wine darkens from pink to black, depending on the color. liquid thickness.

For example, when Candy Rouge airbrush paint is applied in 1 or 2 coats on a white background, a pinkish tint is obtained.

If more layers are applied, then one will gradually obtain a red shade, then burgundy, then finally dark cherry.

Each of the 11 candy colors works according to this same principle.

The importance of background :

Candy Stardust Pro airbrush paints are especially great when used in conjunction in a multi-coat system :

The transparent color forms the surface layer, which filters the light.

A base coat is therefore necessary, to "bounce the light".

To create this background, rather than using a simple white or light color, as practiced in airbrush drawing and wash techniques, we recommend the use of a paint capable of reflecting light. for painting objects, or bodywork.

We recommend pearlescent or aluminum paints from the Stardust Pro range to create this sparkling undercoat.

Please note : the finished color of an airbrushed Candy painting will always be unique and will depend on these 3 factors : 

• background color
• Candy color
• the number of layers of Candy

Finishing, resistance and covering :

Stardust Pro paints provide excellent chemical and weather resistance.

They are suitable for outdoors. Although inferior to opaque colors, Candy Stardust shades have excellent resistance to UV rays.

Airbrush water-based candy paints can be used as the final finishing coat, as they are glossy and resistant.

It is possible to re-varnish them, without sanding for 24/48 hours to improve shine and resistance.

It is also possible to cover them with solvent-based clearcoats, always allowing complete drying (72 hours), taking precautions and carrying out some preliminary tests.
